James David Rogers
Dave recently returned to practicing law after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Colonel. He received a B.A. in History from the Citadel in 1983 where he was recognized as a Distinguished Naval Student. After graduating, he accepted a Marine Corps commission and served on active duty for four years. When transferred to Reserve status, Dave enrolled in the Georgia State University School of Law. However, his legal education was interrupted when he returned to active duty, participating in combat operations in Desert Storm. He resumed law school and received his J.D. in 1993. As a practicing attorney, he tried civil, criminal and family law cases for several years before returning to active duty as a Marine Officer following the aftermath of 9-11. As a three-tour combat veteran, Dave has served as Assistant Chief of Staff, G-7, Command Inspector for the 2d Marine Division and the II Marine Expeditionary Force Forward. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Combat Action Ribbon. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Dave joined DCBF in 2009.
